HFS Lenek

Lenek logo2 updated 03.03.2020.png

Croatian folkloric dancing has been celebrated in Adelaide for over 70 years, with the first recorded performance taking place in 1951.  From these strong traditions our dance ensemble ‘HFS Lenek’ emerged.  Officially taking the Lenek name in 1975 it is the only Croatian Folkloric Group in South Australia that has continuously strived to preserve the music, dance and traditions across the generations.

HFS Lenek currently has approximately 90 dancers across all age groups from the age of 3, as well as teachers, volunteers and committee members. The organisation continues to build on its strength of uniting the community by maintaining our rich and diverse culture, as well as sharing this culture and its associated traditional dancing with the wider multicultural Australian community. This could not be possible without the ongoing commitment of our member and volunteers, who work tirelessly to bring together members and community, ensuring our ability to do so for generations to come.

The HFS Lenek committee encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to join our dance group to have some fun, learn about our history and traditions, and perhaps most importantly, to develop friendships via shared experience that will last a lifetime.
